The Artifact which can travel.
After having the information about Simon Starling,
Autoxylopyrocycloboros (2006)
became more interesting to me from all of his works and I took inspiration for
my artifact project.
As a house is closely related to its inhabitants, so is my bed. After having a hectic day when I came back to my home, I feel myself. I think this is my world.
My imagination or realization is the same with the
house. At the end of the day, people go back to their homes to spend their time
in their own world.
Our piece-of-furniture
workshop was like, where the main ingredients of the artifacts were to be any
old furniture used. I had an old bed and I was inspired by Simon Starling, so I
broke my bed frame at home and carried it from London to Portsmouth in part by
part.
I just recorded the sound of the train journey,
intended to follow the record process.
In 2006,
Simon Starling made a boat from a shade of his house and he took that small boat with a wooden burner engine to ran it in
Loch Long water, in order to supply the fuel, he cut the small boat logs and
put them in that stove and that was my main line to pick-up.
I broke my bed frame and convert it in a rack as
artifact so that I can convert it back into my bed frame again or do something
else as needed, that's really the need at the time. And that was my artifact.
There are some pictures of artifact are given
