Perception and Drawing.

13.10.2023 in class we were asked to draw Wymering Manor. I hadn't seen its architectural layout yet but I could guess that the main building would be something of a U shape type flanked by twin Jacobean staircases and Georgian Bay windows on the west wall. These memories kept going back and forth in my head.

I spent some time in class with this drawing. The exact plan of Wymering Manor is look like below:

At one point I tried to shape the Georgian Bay window by myself.

Historically, this manor from the year 1285 to till date has changed ownership a total of 28 times although its current ownership is held by the Wymering Manor Trust. The property has been held for the highest longest time by Mr. Edward Wayte from the year 1449 to 1518 for 69 years and logically the 7th owner of this Manor. Then the second longest time this property was belongs to Mr. John Le Botllier from the year 1285 to 1350 for 65 years and this person was the first owner of this house.

At the starting of 19th century the ownership was belongs to Thomas Knowlys Parr and Lady Fleetwood from the year 1900 to 1938 for 38 years and please remember this name.

The Staircase showing in the picture was not the part of this house when it was build. This twin Jacobean staircases in the entrance lobby to the Great Hall are both elegant and fitting; brought in this house by Mr.  Thomas Knowlys Parr.

The Stair was giving me the notion of a loop from where I can generate some idea to split a plane in a shape of a comb.

It can create the connection between indoor and outdoor environment as well.
